Porcelain Inlays / Onlays

A Porcelain Inlay or Onlay is a custom made filling fabricated by Dr. Ludwig's personal master ceramist and lab technician. They are then permanently cemented onto your tooth by Dr. Ludwig.

Porcelain Inlays / Onlays are popular choices for dental restorations because they blend in and resemble your natural tooth and they are also a more conservative approach to fixing a tooth instead of a full coverage crown. An Onlay is sometimes referred to as a partial crown. Onlays are used to repair teeth that have large defective fillings because of cracks, leakage, old wear, or that have been damaged by decay or trauma. Onlays are an ideal alternative choice to full crowns because less tooth structure is taken away in preparation for an onlay. This in turn keeps as much healthy tooth around as possible which is always the best choice in conservative dentistry.
